I am editing my photos in photoshop cs3, I go into file merge and then hdr merge. I then serlect my 3 photos that i want to use and it puts them ontop of each other and it bring a nice clean sharp and a very bright colours. When i click the ok button it goes tho all of the merging process and then when the pictures come up in the main window all of the colours have faded and i have tried to get them back to how i sore them before. but with no luck. How can i get the bright colours back?

HDR means High Dynamic Range and it is when you take 3 shots in maual the first at -2ev the second at 0ev and then the third at +2ev as an example. then when you merge these photos together you should find the you have a lot more depth and detail in your photo.

hi,
i only have cs1 and don't have that feature.. but i am well aware of it in cs2 and 3 ....... planning on the day i upgrade..lol.... anyway..

I am just wondering... how your saving the final results... weather it still in 32 bit or 16 bit....

now you may want to look at this tutorial it good on the step and it address about 16 and 32 bit... may want to look at step 6....

take a look overall and see if your doing the same thing..

This almost sounds like a color management problem. Are you using a profiled monitor? Either way, doing a new profile would be my first suggestion.

If you plan on doing a lot of HDR work, I suggest looking into a software package called "Photomatix". It's easy to use, and gives you a lot more control over the merging and tone mapping process. There is a free trial, but it will add a watermark to your images. The site can be found at http://www.hdrsoft.com/
