Layer mask channel ???

Postby ksimmonds on Mon Nov 09, 2009 7:59 am

I am trying out a plug in called "Topaz Re mask" but when I try to open it, I get the message ..... Could not complete the Topaz Remask command because no layer mask channel is found. This plug in needs a layer mask channel".
I thought I was quite familiar with Photoshop, but I'm stuck here. How do I do it ?

hi,
first i don't have the program but did a little research...

it appears that is normal to get that notification... !!! it has to do with how remask is designed and incorporated into photoshop... basically remask doesn't have a user interphase but works behind the scences...

once you click ok on the mask notification... you then you need , selct your actions, and to make a tri map and continue....

I suggest look at this tutoral on the use of remask.. it has a lotof good info on it...

also this link shows several other tutorials for remask...

Every time you create a layer mask in Photoshop, it adds a copy of the mask as a new channel. If you switch to the channel palette, you should see a channel called (layer name) mask. I assume that this is what the plug-in is looking for.
