I'm waiting to see what MS has for a game line-up. Unless they impress me nicely (Halo isn't everything ;)) I'm going to be putting my $450 down on the PS3.

If PS3 gets to run other OS's (as they might do) like Linux, or BSD I'd buy one right away...

Who doesn't want a powerful Unix like desktop machine that's also an uber game machine :)

Since i first heard about the PS3 in detail i was set on getting one of them. After all it is more powerful then the XB360. But then i heard the price of the PS3 and just laughed and thought 'ok i knew it was going to be expensive but come on is this a joke...'

The price was putting me off but i was still thinking weather to get it or not. I had a few friends who own a 360 and they all said its great. So when there was a decent deal on the 360 at the place i work i got one. The deal was 30% off for staff and we had a good bundle which was the premium system with 2 games for £330 so i got that for like £230 :D. Money well spent i have to say.

Its great fun on xbox live and the games are pretty good and theres a decent line up of games coming out so its a good choice.

And now that the PS3 isnt coming to EU till next year if your in Europe you can almost bet on there being some realy good deals on the 360 leading up to Christmas.

Well depends on how you look at it :), and what you want.

PS3 has HDD, rechargeble wireless controller and blu-ray (high def playback) standard (with the 499/599 price tag). The 599 also has wireless LAN and SD/flash card reader standard.

Sure an Xbox 360 core system is "only" 299, but...

40 - wireless controller
15 - recharge battery for wireless controller
90 - hdd
75 - wireless LAN
199 - hd-dvd playback add on

so that's 299+40+15+90+175+99=718 euro for an xbox that equals the PS3, even if you buy premium with hd-dvd and no wireless LAN you are still at ~600 euro, same as the "expensive" PS3 (that has 60gb hdd, wireless LAN and memory card reader), the cheaper (499) PS3 gives you the same as the xbox 360 (20gb) with all the extra goodies for 100 euro less. Just an alternative to the "Xbox 360 is cheaper" view, it depends what you want...and how you look at it...
