Using shapes

Postby Wickings on Wed Apr 28, 2010 11:52 am

Hey guys!

I have a project, in which i am to create a poster for an anti-drug campaign.
For this i would like to design a syringe, but it wouldn't be very creative to just find a stock photo, so i want to try and make one in shapes (as I think this is the right tool to use?(

But i have never worked with shapes.
This is probably a large question, but do any of you guys know a site/tutorial that teaches you to design/create objects with shapes? So far i have had no luck with googling "using shapes in photoshop" etc, so I hope you guys can help me out?
Thanks

hi,
well first if you do a search on PHOTOSHOP CREATING SHAPES ..you should get a lot of hits...

now keep in mind shapes are just premade vector lines!!!

when creating your own shapes.. you will be using the pin tool!!! to make your vector lines/design ....

you might find this tutorial of use..

http://shapeshed.com/journal/creating_c ... photoshop/

also you may want to do a search for the pen tool.. there a ton of of stuff out there for that...

in fact did a quick serch and found several tutorials on making a syringe either outlining or from scratch
