Removing and replacing a light object in a photo

Postby yelloweyes on Sat Apr 23, 2011 9:09 am

Hey everyone :)
Im just requesting a bit of a walk through on how to remove the sun from this image as I plan to replace it with a moon rise/set night cycle and I'm not sure how to remove a light object (the sun).

Any help would be very much appreciated - I just want to say I'm not specifically asking someone to edit this for me but tell me the process.

:) Thank you so much in advance everyone :)

NB: sorry if this is in the wrong place, I looked and I thought this seemed right.

you could probably use Hue/Saturation filter >lightness levels, to change from day to night then add a moon and stars to the sky, but it could get complicated if your not versed very will with Ps.

I wouldn't remove the sun. I'd desaturate the pic, fill another layer with a dark blue and change the blend and opacity to suit, then place the moon on a third layer over the sun.
