Photoshop Tutorial: Shiny Signature

Postby webmaster on Fri Jul 08, 2005 11:27 pm

Start with opening a signature in photoshop, I use our user RefredzRate's signature in this tutorial. Here's the original:
Image

Press CTRL+D to reset the colors (black/white). Make a new layer, click on Filter > Render > Clouds. Change the opacity of the layer from 100% to 20%. Set the Blend Mode from Normal to Soft Light.

Now make 4 more layers with clouds ,20% opacity and blend mode: Soft Light.

Hide 4 of the 5 cloud-layers and press Shift+CTRL+M to export the image to Image Ready.

Image Ready should now start and it shouls contain your image and a window called 'Animation'. If you can't find the animation-window click on Window > Animation.

Make a new frame in the animation-window then hide the visible cloud-layer and make another cloud-layer visible. Repeate this until all the cloud-layers have been shown.

Your animation-window should now contain 5 frames.

Your shiny effect is now done, press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+S to 'Save Optimized As...'

And here's my final result:

I was thinking that the shiny particles or whatever should be made smaller and should be scattered all across the sig making it kinda glitter. Everyone has their own taste.

Hi and welcome to DEVPPL Terror.

The effect is really good in the top of your two signature. Maybe you can remove one of your signatures, it's kind of annoying for the other members when your signature take that much space. But really nice.

You can try to look at this tutorial to learn how to make a sparking effect, then you maybe can add it to your signature to make it even better.
