3DMark05

Full screen version

3DMark is the most famous "computer hardware tester" around the world. Its main purpose is to test your computer's tendency to run games and high detailed graphical videos.

Futurenark (the creators of 3DMark) seems to have programmed quite much of the 2005 verion of 3Dmark (a.k.a. 3DMark05). They have even let out a screenshot of a demo, that will be used to test the graphic card and the rest of the computer of course. From the picture it seems that even the newest and best graphic cards in the market will work their arses off to manage to run the demo. The old graphic cards have no chance to run the demo at all.

Note:
You can even post your score of earlier versions of 3Dmark in this post. Having a link with the desciption of the computer and score result would be cool too ;).

I tested my computer with 3dMark03 almost a year ago, and I was already stunned back then how amazing those animation were. However, I havent seen many games with graphics and animations like that.

Anyways, even if you get a low score with 3dMark, don't worry. It doesn't matter if your friend can play nethack with a faster comp than yours :P

... and gaming isn't important at all. :)

Well not for everyone. But there are people out there who make their living from games. :)

Well Shinz is right. This program runs different tests on your computer to point out how much of a beast your computer is. Some of the tests it runs are:
-Low and High detailed video games (non-playable, just like the one in the picture)
-Pixel test
-Color fill
-CPU tests
-Sound test etc....

After the test, the program gives you a score based on the results of your test. The better results, the better 3DMark score.

Plus... check out the gun! Isnt it too cool? The crew disigning 3Dmark05 named that gun "big mama". The name is written on the gun as well.

It seems so heavy !!

Yup, I could never design anything like that. Plus I'm horrible at 3d.

Well, I dont think its one person who designed that beast! It most probably is a whole community of designers, and secondly they are professionals. Thats what they earn their living from, so they have to be good.

Well, 3DMark05 isnt out yet. I think they will release it by the start of year 2005. But u can check your PC with the old versions (trial versions) of 3DMark like 3DMark01 & 3DMark03.

You can download 3DMark01 SE (demo) from HERE or
You can download 3DMark03 (demo) from HERE
Note: Select the mirror from the list that suits you.

Good luck with the tests :), let us know what marks you got.
