Windows Vista is the new name of the formerly Windows codename "Longhorn". The new OS will be released in 2006 and should be better, more secure and better looking. Microsoft says that the first beta version of Windows Vista will be released the 3rd August 2005, but if you are a member of MSDN, you can download the Beta 1 today.

Yupp it seems like that, I haven't found any information why. But I personally think it sounds better with Windows Vista then Windows Longhorn.

True, I agree. But still it dosnt sound very good marketing techniques to change the name of a product once people get used to the name.

But then again Im sure Bill Gates has something cunning on his mind.
