Is this a good config?

I'm buyin a new pc and would like some expert comments on the config..

MB::Msi RS480-M2
CPU::Athlon 64 3000+
RAM::512MB
HDD::80GB(Which one is better SAMSUNG or SEAGATE?)
OPT.DRV::SONY/LITEON DVD writer
MONITOR:: SAMSUNG sync master 17"
then the usual Opt.MOuse, Keyboard,UPS etc

"NO" AGP card

well what do you think abut this??

For your HDD I'd go with a Seagate instead of a Samsung. Seagate is a definite succes. If you really gave me the full choice, I'd get a Western Digital disk though.

Go with 1Gb of RAM, that will give you quite some more performance I think. Especially when you're going to run Windows XP and some other heavy software like Photoshop.

Why no AGP card, does the motherboard have on-board AGP?

i agree with fredz, WD > seagate > samsung

and i also agree with the RAM part... you need 1gb to run photoshop well...

Its an "okay" spec for a PC. But in the end it depends on what its gonna be used for. If you are planning on using it for (as I like to call it) heavy lifting then you should definately fo for 1 GB ram.

I've got 512Mb RAM, and PS works just fine! Only problem is when you've got huge pics (very much larger than 1600x1200), then it can take some time to do something.

I dont have any experience with ATI chipsets yet, Nforce 4 chipsets are pretty good.

I would go for seagate, I see a lot of disks go by and seagate has one of the lowest failure rates (last few years) and most new disks have 5 year warranty (which is exceptionally long in disk world)

Seagate perfromance is on avarage, if you want perfromance go with Western Digital, but they cost a little more.

ya i thought i'll go for the 1GB ram but that'll be too costly for me another 50-60$ so i think i'll stick to this... also i heard my mother board has an inbuilt AGP card.....so thats cool i'll be upgrading my pc in about an year so i think i'll buy newer things than...

Please keep in mind that on board graphics chips are not as fast as graphics cards. They're slower due to the shared memory, just the RAM you have basically.
So if going for an on board graphics board, you should keep in mind that a part of that memory is already used by the graphics chip. Extra RAM would definetely be a good investment in that case, or a real graphics card after all!
