Create a Login Program

I wonder if this is possible: I've a website, I want a site on the site that is only for some people. The thing is that I want a program that you open via an Link and then you need to login in with Username, and Password. And I want to be admin so I want to be the one able to register/add users. HELP! Is this possible?

I know you can do that in PHP but not to sure about a program.

PHP or ASP.NET are my suggestions.

To lean PHP and then make this will take some time. I suggest you use a pre-made system for this. I'm not sure if Mambo supports useraccounts but I guess so. Look at: http://www.mamboserver.com/

In VB you can create an app. which user download to their pc's and then use it to login.. but like what you say i dont think its possible and also i have no idea how to do it.... PHP will be a better option i guess...
