Print from Photoshop but comes out really small on paper

Aaaaahhhhhhh!!! This is so frustrating!! I am running CS3 and an HP Photosmart AIO B210 series. I have a pic with an image size of 10 by 6 inches in the program. My canvas is trimmed and matches the image size. On the print preview, it looks like it should. The page size in ps and after hitting print are both set to letter size. I have tried multiple files with the same result. I have copied it as a jpg, and same thing. The most frustrating part? It will print correctly if it is set on draft quality!!! My resolution is set to 300 for the image in photoshop, and the resolution for the printer doesn't have changeable options. What in the world??? It also shoves the image up into the corner of the page. In the preview it is set to print in the middle. I have no other printers with nearly the same name. I do not have a fax printer installed. What is going on???!!! This is the first time I've printed from PS to this printer. TIA for any help you may have!!

Same problem. I am trying to print a 5.5"x8.5" image on an 8 1/2"x11 sheet of paper. I have tried printing as the 5.5x8.5 and I also made my canvas size 8 1/2x11 and everything is printing as a small 3"x2" little picture about 1/4 of the way down the 8 1/2x11 sheet of paper. It's driving me nuts! No fax selected.
