Printing help needed!

Postby Excruciating on Thu Jun 28, 2007 1:13 pm

Hello everyone, especially Medley I guess.
I've got a printing porlbme, my images come out way lighter than what they apear in photoshop (CS2).

Screen resolution is: 1280 x 1024
Printer is a: HP PSC 1610 All-in-one
I'm using HP photo paper (just standard photopaper, didn't have anything else at hands).
The size of the canvas is A4, but since my printer can't print it all without cutting the image, I checked "Scale to fit media".

erm.. yeah, what else do you need to know ?

Oh, and after "file>Print with preview" Should I check "Let photoshop determine colors" or "Let printer determine colors" ?

Can i suggest something? :)

Try running "adobe gamma"... restart the computer.. then readjust your image according to those settings..

I've faced once this problem... this was the solution.

Hope this will help. :)

definately a good idea. :) Though i don't think CS3 (if that is what Pete is using?) comes with adobe gamma (could be wrong here).

CS2 as I wrote :)
Well, I sorta just randomed everything before printing my second (of 6) and it came out, descent and almost color true.. I'm not sure what I did, but my luck never fails :)

I've never heard of Adobe Gamme or any color correcting programs for monitors but I'll most certainly have a look at it to avoid future problems.

P.S thanks a lot for the mail Joe :)
