Question about layering/buckets.

Postby valestrom on Sat Sep 17, 2011 4:42 pm

Is there any possible way that I can use a new layer on top of my background, but still use the paint bucket tool to follow along the lines of the background, so it doesn't just autofill the entire screen instead? Thanks ahead.

hi,
sort of difficult to understand "along the lines" not sure what that means

but you can create your transparent layer and then do a selection of the area you want... and just paint that area

or you can create a filled area and add a mask and paint mask for what area you want to show thru ..

it would probably help if we could see the image your working and specifics on what your trying to do... keep in mind there a lot of different ways to reach the end results and it depends on the image which is the best route.
