Is there a way to lower the amount of repetetiveness of duplicating a layer many times to replicate scrolling text (or something like)?

Take this image for example: http://mahcuz.com/lost%20hope/Lost_Hope_Animated.gif

I had to duplicate the layer 'coming soon' and move it to the right many times. A tad boring and annoying..

Anyway of overcoming this?

Cheers.

Hi mahcuz,
Well, I'm not sure this is what you're looking for but you might want to give it a try.
1) Using the Type tool, type a word or two into your document.
2) Now hold the Alt key (Option on a Mac) and press Control + T (Cmd + T on a Mac) to bring up Free Transform. Note: Adding the Alt/Option key to the shortcut will allow you to transform and move a copy of the text.
3) Once Free Transform puts that bounding border around your text, you can move it. Put the cursor inside the bounding border and drag, use your arrow keys, or type in the x and y positions at the top of the document.
4) After moving a copy of the text, except the move by hitting the Enter (or Return) key.
5) Now we'll add the Shift key to the key combo. Adding the Shift key will allow you to repeat the previous transformation. So...hold down Alt + Shift and hit the Control +T shortcut to repeat the moving of your text as many times as you like. Of course for a Mac it would be Option + Shift along with the Cmd +T shortcut.

This sounds more complicated than it really is :-) Hope it turns out to be helpful.

Hi Mate,

This would take 2 mins in flash.

Cheers

Hi mahcuz,
Here is a "2 mins" method for Photoshop/ImageReady:

- Create your inscription in separate text layer
- Move it to the initial position
- In the Animation palette, create the 2nd frame
- Move the text layer to final position
- In the Animation palette menu, select "Tween" command
- Define number of intermediate frames
- OK
