Removing the freewebs bar

Removing the freewebs bar

Postby Hockeyflyers on Sat Mar 17, 2007 10:01 pm

How do I remove the freewebs bar on my website. I know it's possible because look here: http://www.firewiregames.co.nr It is made with freewebs. I viewed the source but I couldn't figure it out. I am not a complete newbie trying to create my own website. I know HTML fairly well and can do a lot. Here is my page so far: http://www.freewebs.com/quinton155 (It's only one page) Thanks in advanced!

Since there is no bar it means they bought the pack. It is impossible to take it off even in the source code because when you upload the page to the server again with that part of the code gone. They will just add it back. Notice that they bought a domain name too. It means that they are not using the basic free pack. Thats the way the make money. They put the bar on there and hope people will get pissed off at it and buy the pack. heh heh. Not really (well... kinda) They get advertising with it on there.

He didn't buy the domain because co.nr is a free domain redirection service. see here. Oh, well. I'll just try to find another place to upload it.

It's a different hoster. Not all of them make you put a banner. If you don't want the bar use the hoster he used.

Hey guys. That's my website. If you have an HTML only account on Freewebs it won't add the userbar at the top. It will, however, add a message in the loading bar at the bottom of the screen that it was hosted for free by Freewebs. It is solved by simply using a Javascript code to hide it. Hope you like my website! (My free domain provider is acting up so you have to type in http://www.freewebs.com/firewire5)
