Resizing images - Photoshop CS2

Postby MartinD on Thu Jul 05, 2007 9:00 pm

I want to paste three images of 4cm x 5cm on one canvas of 13cm x 18cm. Sounds simple but I am really struggling. So far I have taken the first original image and used "Image | Image size..." to resize to 4 x 5 and then cut and pasted onto a new canvas of 13 x 18.

However, when I try the same on the second image it comes out larger on the canvas after I've pasted it, even though it says the image is 4 x 5.

Very confused and would appreciate some help.

Thanks,
MartinD

so when you post image2 onto canvas next to image1 it appears larger? Probably has to do with the resolution of your images. In the image size screen make sure you are dealing with all the same resolution images. :)

That did it. I still can't get my head around the relationship between image size, resolution, domensions, etc. However, once I made each image 4 x5 with the same resolution it worked.

Many thanks, I've been working on this for hours and thought it would only take 10 minutes!

Glad to help. :) Yeah, the relationship between image size and resolution is hard to get. In the end you need to think about everything in context of pixels, not in./cm.
