Resolution Question

I am commisioned to do an digital art piece, final size to be 6 feet by 8 feet, is this possible to do in photoshop and what should the dpi be?

Erm i Think Illustrator is the program you would need when making larger images.

This is what iv been told anyway

Photo quality is around 300 dpi. At six feet by eight feet, that would be a whopping 1.74 gb document. Photoshop will, indeed, open a document this size (I tried it), but I'm willing to bet you'd have all kinds of memory problems trying to use most tools.

yeah, i probably will have memory problems. I'm probably better off using illistrator like mentioned above and creating a vector file. I really wanted to do it in photoshop but looks like I might have to brush up on illistrator.
