yeah,
those dropdowns definately query a DB PHB makes sense and should just be very simple using dreamweaver or what ever software you use.

CSS change background image (href)

Hi,

I have a box with a background image that changes on mouse over. How do I position a text in the box? Please see the code below,

I like to maybe display 50 characters of the text some place in the a href box (30px left and right)? Can anyone help me out?

Well the shadow is an image put into the css the code is

Same with the right and left shadow. Then the background color is just

Dosen't look to hard but that is how they did it.

save html file css images is not working

i created a newsletter with stylesheet kep in separate folder likewise images and when i open the page its view is exact as i wanted but when i save it as .htm format images are missing which i loaded through css.

how to solve this issue. or do i have to change the method of creating the newsletter instead of careting a web page

I would have a look through your HTML and CSS if I was on the PC but I'm not, I'm on my nice MacBook <3 where I don't have to worry about the IE stuff, well until it comes to testing later on...

Yes, it's pretty normal, try using a CSS reset, this gets rid of default browser styling which means you have to do it all but it will be the same across all browsers, well most. Also google for a list of the IE6 problems you can have, there is a lot of them. Also I think getting stuff to work in IE6/7 is easier than IE8 so use the compatibility mode to render your site as IE7 if you're still having problems with IE8.

You can't. When you make the changes with Firebug you need to paste the CSS into your CSS file, using Firebug just lets you see what the page will be like with those styles applied.

A CSS reset will reset all browser default styles so you're not having to take the margin and padding and stuff of list items and stuff like that. Well that's where I find it most useful.

In main CSS for #header you have margin: 10px 0px 5px 0px;
In main_services.css you got margin: 10px 0px 10px 0px;
So change the 5px to 10px

CSS problems in Safari

Hello every one I have been working on a simple little site that is now up on a test page. I've looked it over on most of the major browsers and it looks good. No CSS crap-ups. But when I look it over in Safari I'm getting a problem with the second left DIV box its like it moving up and I'm not sure why.

I guess I haven't worked with layers before. I've mostly done divs and tables using HTML and CSS. It sounds like you are having problems with the program creating your site though. My best advice would be to search for some tutorials on CSS and learn how to hand code. That way you won't be restricted by the limits of your program.

Is there any way to retain the bgcolor of a menu tab?

Is there any way using CSS to retain the background color of a menu tab after you move your mouse to the secondary menu? Is there a web state that corresponds to this?

I'm working on a new 2-level menu for our website and this has been a problem. I tried changing the javascript code, which took care of the problem, but it also incorporated a lot of the CSS into it, giving us less control over things (plus I'm more comfortable and/or familiar with CSS).

No, that can't be done. You should choose between the three: normal, italic, oblique.
