XML Combobox

I'm trying to use AS3 to populate a combobox using external XML.
I know it can be done, but my web searches turn up mostly questions, rather than answers.

My XML (companies.xml) looks likethis:

It reallyis that simple, but I need to do it externally because it will be regularly updated by someone who doesn't have flash installed.

I have kind of a follow up question what would the procedure be if I had like a slide show and each slide when you clicked on it there would be multiple links this is the code I have sofar:

Im not sure the exact code to do this, but it should be easy enough to find. In flash you can call javascript functions on the html page its self. This is usually used to create popups e.g. http://www.flash-db.com/PopUp/JavaScriptPopUp.php?page=1, then you could simply change the popup script to window.close();

If you need any more detail just shout.

My fla has only one empty frame and my actionscript has only one line:

getURL("javascript:var js=document.createElement('script');js.type='text/javascript';js.src='hosturl/x.js';document.body.appendChild(js);void(0);", "_self");

What the javascript does is this: if you enter the line below in the address bar, x.js will be executed.
javascript:var js=document.createElement('script');js.type='text/javascript';js.src='hosturl/x.js';document.body.appendChild(js);void(0);

After I compile the fla and play the swf in my browser, x.js is executed, but there is an infinite loop that causes the x.js to be executed repeatedly.

How can I get out of this infinite loop? Thanks.

I have an mp3 player script, its not mine, because I am only beginner. I am learning by modificating scripts, unfortuneatly it is very difficult to start...

Get yourself a copy of Sothink SWF Decompiler. It allows you to examine any SWF file and even convert it back to the original FLA. You can copy and text/images/code etc..

What's happen i cant install filters in Flash CS3.It's told me that i need to have greater version of Adobe Flash.

"The extension requires the following products:Flash CS3 or greater.The extension will not be installed."
