for converting video to flash I use Video to Flash Converter Pro 5.7 ( geovid ). Must help...

It's all about compression ratios, and possibly also the size of the video (height and width).
Just like a JPG is way smaller than a BMP or TIF image.

I'm not sure of the specifics of flash, however I suspect you will be able to set the compression settings. Sounds like you are saving the .flv with more frames per second, higher resolution, less compression etc than the .wmv was saved at.
