Processing MS Office documents with Java

My team came across a solution which allows to:

- convert XLS+DOC+PPT to PDF
- replace strings in DOC files
- read/write Excel files using simplified aAPI like getCell and setCell
- hide sheets in Excel files(hide secondary calculations for example)

Available on this website: dancrintea.ro/xls-to-pdf/

The only downside is that it needs OpenOffice,
but hey..... a lot of nice things things are possible this way.
Can you please share your tools and experience on processing MS Office documents with Java?

Today, I want to share my using experience of displayTag with you. It is an open source package, which is mainly used to display data.
The functions of displayTag are abundant, such as data display, combination with css, extraction and display of data subset, automatic generation of hyperlink and sequence number, page break, grouping, group summary, data export, subreport, multi-report display, report head and bottom, dynamic column, data prewarning, condition summary, etc.

In use process, I find some shortnesses of displayTag:

1. The reports generated by displayTag usually involve some regular rules, and it can not make reports with merging cells, multi-layer report head, or left report head.

2. It is impossible to make complex reports, for example, multi-source subdivision report.

3. Although it has a great combination with css in display, it can not apply the style of css to exported Excel/Word/PDF files. As a result, if you want to export light Excel/Word/PDF files, you have to...

how to open pdf files in FireFox through jsp page?

hi all,
i have a problem when i click the link in jsp page. whenever i am clicking the jsp page link it wants to open a pdf file, the pdf file is located in remote system. its working properly in Internet Explorer. but i am opning this in FireFox means its not opening. In firefox url that is not showing the exact path. optionally its showing like that:

Moving problem

hello,

I am trying to make 2 circles (MC) move with the LEFT arrow after I click on one of them (selecting witch to move)(ex.clic ball1 move it with the key, then click ball2 and move it..). But I can move only one circle, the other it doesn't respond when I click on it. Can you help me with this?
