here are my comments anyway:

A few years ago I started exactly as you did, by installing a Linux
distribution on a private low-end PC to use as mail- and webserver.I chose debian and I am still fond of it.
I have documented all my steps in a personal readme-file which I
later put on my website. If you are interested, here is the link:
The scratch-installation parts up to chapter 6 might be a bit old
(most of it is still from the woody-release), but I have kept the later
chapters up to date.

Suse 10.0 Is very nice, it is very user friendly with a graphical
install, its defualt GUI is KDE, which resembles windows Explorer in a way
so its easy for people new to linux, also SUSE detects preaty much
everything out there, and is very stable. SUSE also comes with all the
software you would ever need on the Install disk, This means you dont have
to download things to get what you want.

I have also tryed Fedora core 5 (Red hat linuxes free version). I had
some problems with the Media plug-ins for fire fox as they where not
compatable with a 64-bit OS, which I was using at the time. Howevery it
installed a little easyer then Suse did.

I would Recomend SUSE 10.0, not SUSE 10.1 because its a bit glitchy.
Suse is great for new users and Pros alike, and I'm sure you will have a
great time learning to use the Linux OS.

Suse is great for new users and Pros alike, and I'm sure you will have a
great time learning to use the Linux OS.

the best linux would probably be some "live-cd". its a linux that boots
directly from CD and it uses your ram to store data.
this would be the
best choice for the first
...

IRM include_path error

Hi,

I am currently installing and configuring IRM 1.5.7 asset management
software on my server. The system set-up is as follows:

-	Linux Suse 10 Operating System
-	Apache 2.0
-	PHP 4.4.0 (with mysql extensions)
-	MySQL 4.1.13
-	PEAR BASE 1.4.0a1
-	PEAR MDB 2.3.0
-	PEAR TreeMenu 1.2.0

I installed everything except PEAR through the YAST control centre (I
installed PEAR through the pear ‘install’ command). I know that all
these programs are working (I have other PHP-MySQL programs working on the
server).

When I get into the ‘admin.php’ page – everything works but
when I do a Health Check it states:

The current directory (‘.’) does not appear to be in your
include_path

When I try to ignore this error and proceed to the ‘login.php’
page (and it diverts me to ‘index.php’). The following error appears:

Warning: main (include/i18n.php): failed to open stream: No such file
or directory in /srv...
Statistics : Posted by bussxr • on Mon Jun 05, 2006 3:02 am • Replies 0 • Views 1592
