Your best bet is to take a look at this site: http://www.cgtextures.com and basically find a concrete texture to overlay on your website. That is basically how these effects were made. It sounds simple and that's because it is. Just put the texture in a new layer and set its blend mode to Overlay Go...

Probably more a printer / printer settings problem than a Photoshop problem. The best way to test is to compare your printed PSD version with a version printed as a different file type (like PDF). If they both have the same problem there is a good chance the problem lies with the Printer rather than...

but everything got smaller and therefore lost detail. That is not true. The thing you must understand is that Zooming in and out on the Computer Screen does not - in any way - alter the data of the image; it simply changes the size of that image ON SCREEN (and only on screen). It doesn't matter whe...

There are many ways to accomplish the same thing in Photoshop; in your case, here is what I would do... It appears there are three lines (A thick solid one, a thin one with a glow, and a really thin thread like one. The image seems to just be an intertwining of these three lines across the canvas wi...

Yeah I did whipped one up pretty quick. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/8364/colored.jpg Here is how: 1) Create a new layer and place a rainbow of color there. I got my rainbow from the color pallet in Photoshop and just expanded it larger and twisted it. 2) Set that layer to Colo...

Well if you apply a pallette (a limitation to the number of colors and types of color) you will achieve this goal, but it wont look as nice as I am sure you would like it to. I am slightly confused by what you mean by "enlarged the image" and how that would add colors, but I think I get it...

The slice tool is used for Web Pages so don't use that. The "easiest" way, I think, to accomplish your goal would be to merge the layers and then use the lasso tool to make your selections. Once a selection is made a simple Copy / Paste will give you the "slice" you are looking f...

The outer glow wont show up against a White Background - i believe - because it uses the Screen blend mode. Try changing the background to Black or some other darker color to see if it is indeed working or not. Or change the blend mode of the Outer Glow in the Outer Glow options to something else, l...

Yeah it looks more like a feather to me since the selection you made with a rectangle marque tool is rounded (a tell tale sign of feathering)
Do what Saintjerry suggested, that should work. |

I may slightly confused as to what the situation is exactly so if what I tell you doesn't work please re explain the problem. As I understand it you are changing the text in the Website PSD when what you should be doing is changing the text in the image JPG. Open the image JPG and change the text in...

I think it looks pretty good. The first thing I noticed was the goggles, not your cut job as that is pretty good. The fact that the lighting is similar really helps too.
I think other than goggle cloning it is pretty good. |

Most mouse buttons will click if you press them down and this will allow all ranges of page scrolling. If you want to know how to scroll in Photoshop try using the Ctrl key (holding that down when scrolling) The best shortcut is to just hold down Space - this will allow you to click and drag around ...

You should check a couple things: 1) Make sure that you do not have an unseen selection 2) Check both the blend mode of the layer and of the Gradient fill itself (tool properties at the top depending on your version of Photoshop) 3) Make sure you are working in 8 bit RGB color (image > mode > ...

to make a star all you need is to take your Brush tool and click once to create a small spec of white (or other bright color) light. If you wanted this star to shine I recommend starting with an Outer Glow. This will give you a softer glow than you would get from using a Lens Flare. I am trying to s...
