servlet receiving wrong response

hi was wondering wehther anybody encountered this error before - send msg to weblogic that server is up but msg received is server is down. I don't know whether it is because I am trying to send messages to a https address. Previously sending to http has no problems. Anybody has any suggestion as to why that is occuring?
