I'm quite new to photoshop. I want to give a photo the look that it is a smashed piece of glass similar to this effect:

Using the lasso tool to pull parts of the image apart, then add a drop shadow.

That's a lot of help.
Any idea how I can cut out curves. When I use the lasso it can only cut out straight lines.

Use the Pen Tool .
