Simple button problem

I'm wondering if anybody can help me, I have set up an ecommerce site and added a more info button to the catalog page, the problem is that ie is not recognising the button, I am new to coding and pieced this together randomly:

<a href="<?php shopp('product','url'); ?>"><form> <input type="button" value="More info"></form></a>

please advise

Php is a server side script, and does not work like javascript.
