Some kind of post rating sysyem

Postby ®Andy Flash® on Tue Jun 17, 2008 3:49 pm

Coming from many gaming forums, and a forum for a game called garrys mod, the forums attached to it were really well ran, they had a post rating system, so if some one replied to your post with something that was usefull there was a little Green plus sign with said thanks or something.

there was.

funny = poster said something funny
informative = poster gave good information on topic
friendly = when the poster was friendly or did something nice...
and many more, i just thought it would be a good idea.

I don't really understand the point to defining whether someone's post was funny or informative or what not. If anything I think this'd promote people skipping through the actual activity of the forum jsut to get answers, and them not participating in the forum.

Do you start tracking funniest posters? Most informative posters? etc...

I dunno,
I think anybody whos posted on this forum more than 10 times in multiple sections of the forum brings a lively hood to DEVPPL, no need to rate how funny they are.

However maybe we can figure out something that lets you know whether someobody got the answer they were looking for in a post. For ex. I ask a question on the PS forum, Johnathan replies with the answer I was looking for, I can go back after getting the response and tick that my question was answered. That way if I'm looking answer questions I don't have to load unnecessary pages to find that the person's questions been answered multiple times.

Just a thought.

We will add a "correct answer", I think that suits this forum better.

This has been mentioned before, but maybe we need a section for the forum's next update ;)

"Correct Answer" feature will be good, what else are we expecting in the next version?

Hope to hear more from you webmaster.

yeah correct answer, or something that you can go back and just tick it and it maybee puts a tick in your regular post, showing you don't need any more answeres because its already been done.
