Something wrong with my pen tool

Ok, so lately I haven't been able to make paths that come out smooth. Every time I try to make some streak looking path, it comes out really pixelated. I have no idea what happened. I don't recall doing anything that would change it. But this is becoming really annoying as I use the pen tool often to create paths and streaks. Anyone know why this problem might be occurring?

have you tried zooming out There isnt anything you can change on the pen tool that will give you jaggies.
only things i can think...res set too low or youre zoomed in too close.

Could you upload an example of the path you're trying to make? A screenshot of your Pen toolbar would be helpful as well, just so we can see which Pen tool you're working with and what options you have enabled/disabled
