Storing data in Excel

Hi all,

I am the new member of this group. I have a HTML page with 2 fields. I have to retrieve the values from the html page using servlets and i need to store the values both in access database and excel sheet. I have stored the values in the access database. Anyone please give me the code on how to store the values in Excel sheet using servlets. Urgently needed. Please help me

Hi and welcome to DEVPPL.

Can't you just print out the values to a table, then you can just copy and paste them to excell.

Hi Priya,

I havent done anything like writing in an excel file.

1. My suggestion, why dont u write as a tab-delimited txt file (you can create a file with .xls extension). The Excel will take care abt the tab-delimited txt file.

2. while creating a datasource (Control Panel - Data Sources ODBC), you can find a link to "Driver for Microsoft Excel (.xls) file. I havent tried this, better you give a try and let me know.
