Submit Button

Hello,
I'm writing a web based package and I need to be able to send information from a web page to a database. I'm not sure how to do that. The submit button in HTML has in its parameters a place to put the server, but I don't understand what to put in that spot. Is there anyone around that can elaborate?
I'd appreciate it!

I know nothing much about html, but as far as i know.. i think you have to make a .txt document on your server called 'data' then link your submit button to it in the parameters..

but, u better wait for somone who actualy knows html lol

Edit : You might have to CHMOD the .txt file to 777 ?

scotto, before we can help you we need some more info.
Like:
What kind of database you use?
What data do you want to write to this database?
How does the form look like (the code I mean)?

maybe if you look around on the internet (GOOGLE) you will find you answer to you questions.....
just search for things like "insert in a database" or "write to a databse"

I've looked all over google and I can't find anything on submit butons. A lot of web forums and html-help 'sites provide the text boxes but how do you get the submit button to send the info to an email or something along those lines?

have you tried what i said, it should work and theres nothing that can go wrong so you might as well give it ago..
