Sun problem

Postby Tic on Mon Jul 23, 2007 9:43 am

Hello!

I am working with panoramic pictures, using fisheye lens and when I am outdoors, I get this wierd looking sun on the pictures. Could someone point me in the right direction on how to fix this problem, wich tool should I use?...

Thank you!
Have a nice day

Well if you are making a panoramic then I would just use a picture of that part of the sky from one of the other pictures.

If that doesn't work then what may work is manually selecting the glare area and, using curves (image > adjustments > curves) and color balance (image > adjustments > color balance) alter the brightness and color of the glare to try and match the sky.

Hopefully the first idea works because it will save you a good deal of time if you are looking for a realistic result.

Tell me you shot this in Raw format, and I'll show you a way to minimize the flare.

Hello!

Thanks for help guys.

Isick, I am using fisheye lens with 180degrees horizontal and vertical capture. That unfortanetly causes a lot of troubles. Like the sun on the pic. I only have one sun, so unfortantetly I can 'use' some other. I will try to to do what you have told me and see what I get of it.

Medley! I am using Nikon Coolpix 5700 with FC-E9 fisheye..... Yes, I am taking RAW images (15megabytes TIFF's), tho later, I save them in jpg, because they are used in web aplication.

Best regards,
Matic

Matic,

So those wouldn't open in the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in then? Because my method relies on using the exposure control contained therein.

Medley: What exactly is your method? I made this today with my ultra-noob skils.

I used Magicwand, with bigger feather and edited exposure. Than blur and healing tool. Looks so-so.
