Guys, I can host the whole worm (end on end) in a scrolling marquee 'slideshow' on my website if you like
Just pm me the links to the finished pics and I'll put the flash show together when I get the time (maybe later this week)
Only if you are all keen
-Rach

I like to help you out with the website ^^ (Btw, although I've got exams, that's the reason why I've got plenty of time )

Ooh, pity ^^... Well, don't rush on it... The worm can exist as long as it wants ^^...
(and some-one else can already pick in as third...)
PEOPLE: Consider using an overlap distance !
I'll guess some won't understand me, so I'll clear it up for you:

dflynn wrote: Well on the note of your blending tip, I was going for something a litle different where not everything was blending in the same way so it wouldn't have worked perfectly. plus the images aren't supposed to be overlapped from my understanding. when they're compiled should they not be completely separate 800x600 pieces not translucent and overlapped.
Just sayin,
I'll get on that blend tonight though, cheers
Yea, that's the way I though it was going to work, that the blending was going to be at the start of the 800x600 so it the one before was blue it would be a blue-[colour] gradient or whatever.

yes, as we compile it, they all should be solid, and separate pieces of 800 x 600... But then I just paste your blend on my piece ^^...
Maybe a bit cheating in worm terms, but for me, it's not important how we do it, but what the outcome is. I hope you all share this thought?...
Beside, it's our first worm ^^ We don't need to be hard on ourselves ^^.. (we will possible see ourselves evolve when we get further in this project)...
Webmaster: Can you get this topic sticky for us please?...

i think the whole idea of a worm should be about a indeviduals ability to blend as well as possable and impulsives way is a good way but i guess its down to each indevidual to try there best to blend in whatever way possable

So:
You want each image to be SEPARATE, but created in such a way that if you placed image 1 next to image 2 you they would look 'seamless' without any additional blending...
Is that correct?

Well if I were to have blended my image with a translucent left side it would have to be overlayed onto yours in the worm, so noone's piece is going to be in full because we'd all be forced to overlay on the one before it. We should blend the left side as well as we can so that side by side they look as close to perfect as possible, as raven was getting at.
Maybe for our first worm we should focus on as solid a colour on the right side as possible and parts of the picture that bleed off the right side should be solid colours so that they can be matched easily. It's a more solid strategy than cheating and overlaying... I'd rather see a "ok" final product with a lot of improving artists than a great looking piece with artists not learning to blend images properly.
my opinion anyway.

That's the principle of a worm indeed...
But I thought cheating could be a solution for trouble edges^^
Never mind my mambojambo about blending and overlap distances.. You (and Dflynn) are right... We will be much more satisfied with a learning than a cheating process .. ^^...
