I've got an issue here that you guys might be able to shed some light on.
One of my clients has a print publication and as such she hires freelancers like me for all her work. Now I'm not saying that my technique is the end all, be all of design, but I like to separate all of my elements into different layers (In this case they're car ads, so I separate the background, images, details, prices etc.) when I build an ad template.
The problem is that a lot of times I'll get back a design that I built and somehow all of the elements have been stuck on one layer and I have to "chop it up" to get everything back the way it was before. Usually the elements are all over the place as well...
So is this an Illustrator legacy issue, or are people just messing with my work? I use CS5 but need to save all my work as CS3 documents.
Any thoughts?
