tip: have a gradiant follow a curve

Postby jerryb on Sat Jan 07, 2012 5:40 am

hi,
generally when you make a gradieant it always in straight... and i always thought that was it... however learned something to where i can have a gradiant follow a curve line....

i find i can make any curve with with the pen tool or creating a selection and converting it to a path.... and then stroke it and the gradian follow the path line...

pick this up from somone called Scync ...... and i thought i share... been having fun with it this evening... here the instructions
SCync answers as follows:

start quote
1. Make sure your object on its own layer.
2. Click the Layer Style button and select Stroke.
3. When the dialog comes up change the position to Inside, and slide the size over until the object is filled with the stroke colour.
4. Change the fill type to Gradient, and now the magic, change the style to Shape Burst. You can change the gradient colours to your pleasing.
end quote
