Re: unable to get some tools to work in layers

I have 4 G ram....... I used add/remove to take out cs4, I then used windows explorer and found everything else and removed it then I used search to see If I had everything and it was all gone, then I used CCleaner to take out all temp files and so everything was gone, I used a new installer and re-installed it and now I am having the same probs.

I would open a sign that I made, then I made a duplicate copy and I tried to change the name on the sign, the eraser wouldn't work, the paint brush wouldn't work so I couldn't change the name or anything on the sign. I never used to have that prob at all. I can't understand and neither can anyone else I asked.

it is so frustrating cuz I just love this software and wish I could make it do what I want so I am either to dumb or there is something I am over looking. resetting all tools helped then it went right back the same way again and when I try it again, no dice....

Only thing now that comes to mind is "deactivate" your copy uninstall using uninstall that comes with Adobe CS4........ Or uninstall then go to Adobe and download the trial version. It is the same thing, and after the install put your key code in when prompted.

okay thanx iDad, I will give that some serious thought. I am sort of scared I will end up losing the whole thing when I take it out. It is a downloaded copy by blazer69.
you know what they say about 3 times the charm ........

another question, just thought of it. Why is it that after you take all the files out, clean the temp files etc.. that when you d/l a new fresh one, that all your Bridge files are still in there. I took them all out and put them on a flash drive before I took the software out so I wouldn't lose them but they all came back when I re-installed.

Sorry I don't know, but i believe Adobe creates a vault of some sort to help with accidental file loss, If it's a pirated copy"It is a downloaded copy", you'll never straighten it out Adobe is famous for cracking down on it's software. no code, no play. it's getting harder and harder

Thank you very much iDad.

I will keep monkey-ing around with it for a while longer to see what happens. Everyone else I know with this same copy isn't having any problem. I still believe it is just something stupid that I can't see even if I am looking at it.

Story of my life....
