Underexposed photo

Postby terry1 on Sat May 05, 2007 9:53 am

Hi, I am a complete beginner to photoshop but hope to change that with time. Anyway, I have a photo ( a group of people ) that is partially underexposed and lacks colour definition. Is there a method of enhancing the colours to improve the picture ?? :( :(

To improve underexposure:

1.) Duplicate the layer and apply a screen layer blending mode.

2.) Add a layer mask.

3.) Fill the mask with black.

4.) Select paintbrush with 0% hardness and change your colour to white.

5.) Start painting in the areas that are underexposed.

To improve the colours:

1.) Go Image>adjustments>channel mixer

2.) boost the conastants to boost each RGB level and make finer tweaks in the individual source channel sliders.
