hi, note: for your info cs4 is up to patch 11.0.1 this issue of multible temple '2... has me mystified..... on one hand i was thinking that it was corrupted ps file... but sometimes you don't get it... basically a intermittant problem...!! could be buggy issue with cs4 ... something else to look at... in your ps preferences.. now i am not quites sure about this.... but in the "memory and cache" tab..... memory generally from what i under stand appx 50% by default is dedicated to ps ... so you may want to check and see if that ok... now on the cache there... mine shows cache level of 4 ..... but if you have alot of ram.. you can go to 8 .... now i don't know if this will help or not... but i can't that it can hurt to try.... now you might try this photoshop board... it looks active... maybe some one there can help with this issue.... http://forums.adobe.com/community/photo ... op_windows i found this link.. it not going to help with the presetn issue however... it looks like a good reference on a lot of the tools and features... and how there used.. http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11.0/index.html if you can send post a screen capture of your screen.... fotojunkie wrote: Is there an issue ? How could i tell mate ? i tried cs2 on my laptop , i tried both vector and layer mask options , and still dots dots bloody dots im seeing dots in my sleep ...LOL cs2 doesnt have B n W in adjustment layers nor custom setting in curves...... So no duplicating temple 2 in cs2 on my laptop , but it doesnt always duplicate in cs4 on my desktop either PS ur previous assumptions are correct maybe ill try 2 sleep now Thanks

could you post a screen shot of your ps window... i'll compare the pallet to mine and see if i can see anything... now on that vector mask on temple two... instead of using the vector mask try using the layer mask... that what i had to do to make it work out... fotojunkie wrote: Thanks for those links im gonna take sometime to read them before i see if i have anymore questions A busy work week still ahead So your getting dots as well or is it just me ? hi, wait a minute.... there shouldn't be a vector mask on temple 1!! now you should show a a vector mask on the texture background layer and also on temple 2 layer.... but NOT on temple 1....!! and like mentioned to get the results on temple 2 i ended up using the layer mask and not the vector mask... sometimes today... i will post a picture of my pallet also.,.. also i been going to another board which has a some very talented people.....ask 3 questions that related to your isse... and the board has lot poeple... but so far.... the questions i ask but so far only a couple of replies and those replies not sufficent.... grrr... apparently no one has any good answer for me...lol fotojunkie wrote: OK

Just as an update
i decided to try another tutorial as a test
i did the fairy girl one
i had to select an eye from one document and paste
it onto another , and then transform-rotate it
Guess what happened when i rotated it
Yup
It doubled itself
Hmmmmm,,,,,,,,,,,,

hi, oh, i thought you had cs2 on the same machine as your cs 4..... ok cs it will probably work just fine that rotating.... a couple of things ..food for thought.... 1. as far as vector mask and layer mask... from what the guy is doing... layer mask would i think been better.... so as far as the turtorial just go ahead and use layer mask instead of vector when he call for it.... 2. on the rotation..... how are you selecting the objct to rotate.. do youuse the move tool and then adjust where you get the curve arrow and move or you choose rotate? etc...... curious... i am starting to think that it might be a issue between your photoshop and the graphic card oooorrrrrr ... there something wrong with the cs 4 installation...... if your drivers are up to date.. maybe reinstall cs 4.... it an idea fotojunkie wrote: OK

Frig
i just updated to 11.01
Sheesh!!!!!!!!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrr
Same problems...
i ctrl-alt-t or edit - transform-rotate
im not too sure on how to get outta the rotate selection
so what i do is hit move tool and am faced with
apply-cancel-dont apply
Then i apply
im not sure what he means by resize , i missed that step till now
what and how does he propose one do that ?
Yes i use move tool
heres a tidbit
when i rotate i see temple double underneath , but when i cancel out of
rotate its not doubled , as i was typing i just tried again and it didnt
double
Cheers

Hi m8
Heres wot i got so far
Up to step 3 complete
Does this look right ?
When applying layer mask-reveal all the brush colour going on was
white tho i had black chosen , it was black in a test on another pic tho
To solve the rotate/doubling and in between layers problem
n step 3
to paste temple behind temple 1 as shown in tutorial i move pallette selection to layer 1 just under temple 1 and above curves 1
So this is what i have thus far
Cheers
