how to make straight line into a curve

im very new to illustrator and i need some help.
right now, im doing some design for a bowl and they have a template for me.
my question is, (as seen in the photo) how do I curve the red line to fit the curve of the bowl template?
my idea is to create a red surface rim at the top and bottom of the bowl.
