Post subject:  HOW DO I MAKE A FORUM THAT IS LIKE ON MY SITE?
I want to make a forum for my new site but everything is so confusing. Can someone give me a code and then I code work it out from there? I want just a basic forum code I can just put on my site? Or just a site that might help?

Hi and welcome to DEVPPL. If you're not familiar with PHP or ASP, I suggest that you use a service where you get a free one. Search google for: free phpbb forum

And you can just sign up and get a forum in a few minutes.

Welcome to Devppl. :)

Yeah a forum is not as simple as just adding bit of code.

Forums are database driven and each page is made up though a server side programming language using templates of HTML/XHTML and quires to retrive the info that is stored in the database.

It is very complicated and unless you have a high level of server side programming skills then making your own forum is a big no,no.

If you need to ask the question on how it is done then you sure wont be able to to do it.

As webmaster says your best bet is going to a site that has premade ones.

yeps, its best to get a premade one ;) theres loads to choose from so im sure u will find on u like.. look at the links below get a free forum :) i prefer invision over the rest ;) lol The first link is to get ur free forum, nd the second is for skins ;)

I agree with Razz. I've done a website as well. Signing up and creating a forum from phpBB will only take around 10 minutes. Maybe 30, if you're not familiar with a computer ;)

Yeah but I have never called him it cos he has never given me permission to, but a few of the lads call him that as it is sort for his real name.
