How to Ubuntu?

How to Ubuntu?

Postby Latenightsynthesis on Wed Jan 10, 2007 3:28 am

Ok A friend at school showed me Ubuntu at school and i thought it was kick ass so i want it to go on my second hard drive. I went to Ubuntu.com and downloaded the iso image then burn that to a CD and then what? The only thing i knew to do was restart and go to the boot menu but that just started windows back up

You have to configure your PC to boot from that CD (in BIOS). Installation process is very simple only thing that might confuse you is different drive labels. You won't see C:, D: like in windows, but hda1, hda2, etc. so you better remember actual size of partition on which you want to install it.
