Photoshop Tutorial: Photoshop Tricks

Postby Pure_Graphix on Fri Jul 15, 2005 1:05 am

Here are two simple tricks that will save you alot of time and energy, you might already know them, but I didn't. :D

First:
Ok, this first one is a simple one that will just save some time. Have you ever opened the slider on opacity or Fill, only to fiddle around for 5 minutes trying to grab on the slider? Here is a simple trick that will save some time.

Instead of using the slider, just hold your mouse over the text "opacity" or "fill" until the mouse like below is shown, then click and just drag left or right. It is the same as a slider, only easier!

Second:
This is a quick trick that i just found out about and will save me tons of time. This trick merges all visible layers!!!! But wait, THERES MORE! It merges them on a new layer!!!

Image

Just create a new layer, hold Alt (PC) click the layer options in the layer window, and go to merge visible OR press alt+ctrl+shift+e (PC command buttons) with the new layer selected. May have to hold down the mouse for the option drop down to stay. But this trick is bound to save you time.

Hi,
is there anyone who can help me out here?
I'm trying to create "a dreamy effect" picture. Kinda like a white shine as a frame, like a white cloud with the picture inside. Like the circular vignet in layers but then in a rectangle shape.
I have done it before then can't find it anymore how I did it.
Thanks for helping me out!!
ciao

Can Photoshop bypass 'My Pictures' in Vista?

Postby sarasara on Sat Apr 11, 2009 6:48 pm

Forgive me posting to this thread I am new and could not find a 'post new topic' button on my screen.

When my PC was set up the engineer seemed to have confused the 'My Photos' files so that when I save pictures most seem to dissapear or are saved as blank sheets.

What I would like to know is can 'Photoshop' search, view and save images from Yahoo images etc? And can I retrieve the images from photshop if I am posting an image on a forum?

If so I could buy the software and use it to bypass Vista. The protocols for fixing the problem are just too complicated for me to understand.

Grateful for assistance,
sara.
