Vista & Photoshop

Postby ABAM on Tue Aug 14, 2007 4:24 am

I'm new to your forum but I'd like to inquire with those who might know about using an older version of Photoshop (4.0 for PC) on my new Dell computer with Vista Home Premium. I've loaded the software and when I try to launch it, I get a statement that there is not enough RAM to do so. I'm not all that computer literate to simply go into the background and make changes. I usually pay dearly when I try. However, this computer is 5 times the size of my older PC (Melinium) which works with this software without problems. Is this version of Photoshop compatible on my new computer? If so, how would I alter the RAM to allow it to open? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

In XP you could right click application, select properties, and on compatibility tab select compatibility mode for an older operating system. Vista should have the same possibility.
