VISTA - Tommorow.

VISTA - Tommorow.

Postby Tomi on Fri Nov 09, 2007 7:52 pm

Ok, i am getting Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit tommorow along with a new 360gb harddrive. I hope i don't regret this operating system upgrade and dispite all the complaints i beleive its just being blown out of proportion with a few problems here and there.

Anyway, anyone want to let me know of anything beforehand about vista. (Dont tell me not to get it because i am.) If not ill let you know how i get on.

I think a few problems have been blown out of proportion i've only had one problem that was to do with Vista and that was it wouldn't reconize my CD/DVD drive and the fix was easy to find. I think it's the best OS out so you made a good choice. :D

Hope it goes ok for you.

Got it today at about 3pm along with a new 320gb 16mb catch hard drive. Vista works a treat despite all the seller begging me not to get it due to bugs i have been running strong for over 6 hours. Installed fine, vista found my drivers and i started installing applications and games no problem.

I found they got in the way, a bit annoying so i removed them all but the CPU and RAM monitor. :)

I also over clocked my E6600 to 3ghz last night.

I haven't had any problems with any vista pc i have, my dad has 2 vista laptops he uses for work i have one with a larger HD and an external HD for gaming on and its fine, the only annoying thing is the "do you want to confirm this action" messages they can get tedious.

Every operating system has bugs, it's just that everybody is talking about vista's bugs, which isn't strange because vista is very popular. Few weeks ago a major security bug was discovered in all debian based systems (ubuntu family, knoppix, gentoo and dozens of other linux systems), cryptographic keys were not random enough, you could brake them in couple of hours. That was real security issue because many people use debian or debian based system without knowing it (your banks web server, your isp's email server...) Have you heard about that?

Nobody is perfect, but vista is good enough, maybe just too popular.
