Visual Basic .NET 2005 and Windows Vista

Postby jase1000 on Wed May 09, 2007 11:41 am

Firstly a quick hello as I am new to the forum - so HELLO!!!

I have a leading question and one that probably sounds a bit dumb, but...

I want to load Windows Vista onto my home machine and run Visual Basic .NET 2005 which I understand is fine.

I have two concerns.

(1) I will be using developing apps in Visual Studio on a Windows Vista machine at home and tranferring them to a Windows XP machine running Visual Studio. Does anyone know what the implications of this and will it work?

(2) I want to distribute applications to platforms running XP and Windows Vista.

I will need the .NET 3 framework for Windows Vista, but will I need .NET framework 2 or 3 for Windows XP. Again does anyone know what the implications of doing this is?
