Water Ripple Effect

Postby phoenixdynasty on Thu Sep 07, 2006 7:26 am

Hi,

I saw a sticker label and is curious how the background was done. It's like something was dropped and formed a rounded wave effect. And how did the picture seem to be a 3D (look at the bottom wave). Sorry I delete some fonts. Here's the link to the sticker label picture

http://inthephilippines.biz/sticker.htm

I'm just learning Photoshop. Pls help.

I know there's a brush that looks like a ripple in the water. It's not a custom brush in photoshop, but it can be downloaded somewhere from here:

Hello Excruciating,

Thanks for reminding me the exact words to describe the picture. Yes it's water ripple. Have changed the title of this post so others can already understand the request just from the title alone.

I have visited your recommended site and really enjoyed viewing the pix. I found one pix in black and white. How is this converted to a different color?

What if I'll be ambitious to design it my own and duplicate the sticker label that I saw, how is it done?

Thanks for the help.

Okay, I managed to get a name on the brush, it's called:
"Greenspoon waterelemental".
Just use Deviant's search engine if you still need it.

I've seen a couple of tutorials on how to color a black and white picture into real colour. I've never really tried it myself, try searching: http://www.good-tutorials.com
Or maybe someone else here knows how to do it, I personally have no idea.
(Do you want to colour it in realistic colors or just one or two different colors?)

I'm not sure what you mean by that last question. It's hard to say anything with out seeing any pictures, or without you explaining a bit more ..

Yeah interested to know how to do it but can't find link of "Greenspoon waterelemental". Have already googled but no search result. Can you provide me a link to its tutorial.

Hmm, I could send you the brush by mail if you'd like?
Of course if that tutorial did the magic it doesn't matter..

Would appreciate if you can send me the brush by mail. I was able to follow the tutorial but the ripple lines are not very clean. The ripple that I'm looking for is the one in this link http://inthephilippines.biz/sticker.htm
