Weird Gradient effect...

HI, Wondering if you guys could help me, everytime I create a gradient or erase something, I get a weird progressive gradient effect, As shown below... It never happend before, any know the reason why?

hi,
do you mean it sort of looks like it striated ie; lines...

if that the case maybe maybe you need check and make sure you picked the right black to white gradient.....or you may need to make a new gradient
that what i had to do .. in my gradient picker box there was only one black to white gradient and it was striated... had to make a new one that was smooth.....
