What's the best way to get a list started?

Hi Everyone

Not sure if this is the best place for the thread but my listbuilding just isn;t working. Any tips on the best way to get a list going? It'd be good to get as many different opinions as possible so don't be shy!!

Lists are easy to build!
Just setup a twitter account and find people who twit about similar things.
Throw in something of value for free and then sell off the back of it.
It also helps using Aweber auto responder to follow up your list with good offers etc

I am looking for reviews of my video training so I am giving it away very cheap, so that I can build my list!
