Which one???

Postby Moose on Tue Jun 20, 2006 9:21 am

Hi im new to photoshop. I play bf2 and games like that and have seen people make really cool sigs, etc. If i go to bestbuy or newegg i see different "kinds" of photoshop. I dont know which one is best or which will be the best for me. What i want to do with photoshop is make signatures, graphics, and stuff like that. Which "kind" do you think would do the job? Im sure once i find the right one, it'll be all downhill from there. Thanks for reading

Welcome!

Well, it's sorta also a matter of how many money you'd like to give into this.

The Adobe premium Creative Suite2 is a 1.199 US $.
(You can always start a 30-day trial or so.. Just to try things out)

I suggest you go to their website: http://www.adobe.com
What you are looking for is Adobe PhotoShop.
You will find different versions, but I suggest you read about that on their website.

I'll try to explain it the best way I can.

Just like other programs out on the market, Photoshop has different versions. (8, CS, CS2 etc...) In every upgrade there are new functions obviously that simplifies the way you can achieve the wanted effect. So basically you can have more effects in your signatures with the better version of Photoshop you have.

But on the other hand you asked what version would be suitable for your job. My answer would be Photoshop 7 or 8 would be more than enough since CS and CS2 is more focused on photo editting which isn't that much of an important while making signatures.

The thing is that you don't buy Photoshop for a thousand bucks just to make cool gaming forum signatures. X)

No downhill at all. You have to study to make signatures, graphics, and stuff like that. But it's an nice ..hill and you'll enjoy all the way to the top :D If the features of your pc support CS2 keep up with it. If not, try PS 7 or 8 (a.k.a. CS) .
