window.location= 'file:///C:/sharefolder; is not working

Hi Guys,

i try to open my local system shared folder using javascript command
window.location= 'file:///C:/sharefolder;
where the folder sharefolder is in the c:/ and the folder is shared

the thing is it is not opening in firefox and google chrome


can you pls help me in this

You've only attached "openlocalfile.htm".

How do we know that you are calling the real file?

How is the "sharefolder" folder related to "openlocalfile.htm"?

Could you please show us the directory structure that you have at your end.
